Connect ChatGPT to TLDSpy
Ask ChatGPT where to buy or renew a domain for less, and it answers with TLDSpy’s prices. You connect once, then ask in any chat.
Before you start
- ChatGPT on the web. Custom MCP servers are available on Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu, and are rolling out to Plus.
- On a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, an admin may need to add TLDSpy for you.
- A TLDSpy account. If you don’t have one, you create it for free while connecting.
Connect in 7 steps
- 1 Copy the TLDSpy server URL.
https://api.tldspy.com/mcp - 2 In ChatGPT, open Plugins.
- 3 Click +, then Add custom MCP server.
- 4 Name it TLDSpy. Under Connection, paste the server URL into Server URL.
- 5 Set authentication to OAuth.
- 6 Read the warning, click I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
- 7 Install TLDSpy from your plugins. TLDSpy opens. Sign in with your email if asked, then click Allow.
Ask your first question
In a chat, type @ and pick TLDSpy. Every TLDSpy tool only reads data, so ChatGPT does not ask you to approve each one.
- “Where is the cheapest place to renew a .com?”
- “I renew 10 .com domains at GoDaddy. What would I save by moving?”
- “Which first-year deals get expensive at renewal?”
The free TLDSpy plan covers 22 popular extensions. See what each plan includes.
If something goes wrong
- If you can’t open the sign-in email in the same browser, choose Connect with your API key on the TLDSpy page. Your key is on your account page.
- If you regenerate your TLDSpy API key, ChatGPT disconnects. Connect again.
- To disconnect: Open TLDSpy's page in your ChatGPT plugins and remove it.
- ChatGPT sometimes renames its menus. ChatGPT’s own instructions show the current labels.
