Find cheaper domains with ChatGPT or Claude

Use ChatGPT or Claude with TLDSpy to find lower domain prices. Follow a dated .com example, compare renewal costs and check availability before buying.

In TLDSpy’s October 26, 2026 snapshot, Spaceship listed .com at $9.08 for the first year and $10.18 to renew. With TLDSpy connected, ChatGPT or Claude can look up domain prices like these and work out what you would pay over several years.

You can ask where to register, whether a transfer could cost less, or which extensions fit your budget. TLDSpy supplies the price data while your assistant handles the question and calculation.

How do I get domain prices in ChatGPT or Claude?

Add TLDSpy using the ChatGPT setup guide or Claude setup guide, then select it in your conversation. The connection uses TLDSpy’s MCP server, which lets your assistant look up our data as you chat.

Your TLDSpy plan determines which tools and extensions you can use. Your AI app’s subscription is separate; the TLDSpy plans show the included results and tools.

Start with a specific request:

Use TLDSpy to find .com registration prices. Show the first year, annual renewal and estimated cost over 5 years. Exclude stale prices, list standard rates separately from coupons and flag prices that need verification.

The renewal and price date help you check whether an attractive first year fits your longer-term budget. Ask for links to the registrar and TLD price page so you can inspect the source.

Does the lowest renewal give the lowest 5-year cost?

For these three registrars, the snapshot gave the following estimates for a new .com. Each total adds the first year and four renewals at the recorded rate.

RegistrarFirst yearAnnual renewalEstimated 5 years
Spaceship$9.08$10.18$49.80
Sav$10.87*$10.15*$51.47*
Cloudflare$10.46$10.46$52.30

Sav’s indexed renewal was slightly lower, but Spaceship’s lower first-year price gave the lower estimated total. The asterisk marks medium confidence, so confirm Sav’s rate with the registrar; the other two rows were high confidence.

You can change the question as your plans become clearer:

Now rank these registrars for a new domain I will keep for 5 years. Show the calculation and explain any conditions on the prices.

That estimate assumes future renewals stay at the recorded rate. It is not a prepaid five-year offer.

What if I already own the domain?

Give your assistant the current renewal quote and extension. Ask it to compare the transfer fee and later renewals, keeping any extra registration time separate.

For example: “I already own a .com. Use TLDSpy to find lower renewal prices and show each destination’s transfer fee too.” The domain transfer guide explains the timing and terms to check before moving.

Can I check whether the name is available?

Yes. Ask: “Use TLDSpy to check whether mybrand.com, mybrand.io and mybrand.dev are available.” Availability is checked when you ask, while prices have their own collection dates.

Confirm the price for your exact name before buying, since premium names and minimum purchase terms can change the amount due. TLDSpy’s tools read data; they do not register or transfer a domain for you.

This example uses standard annual USD rates from the production MCP, excluding VAT, stale rows and separate conditional offers. Mandatory fees are included where listed, and the source snapshot preserves the prices, confidence labels and collection dates.

Check the prices yourself: every TLD, every registrar, or compare registrars side by side.
